Seliga Financial - Founded in 1989 by Deke Seliga
Seliga Financial has built a strong reputation as an outstanding mortgage broker and mortgage banking source, serving the lending needs of individual homeowners, real estate professional and builders throughout California since 1989. Our mission is to make complex lending simple by offering tailored support, fast approvals and one of California’s largest lender networks.
Deke Seliga was born in San José and raised in the Almaden Valley. He attended Leland High School, where he was a multi-sport athlete, competing in soccer, golf, football, and tennis. After graduating in 1984, he went on to Chico State, where he played varsity soccer for four years and earned a degree in Business with a minor in Sociology in 1988.
In 1989, Deke moved to Santa Rosa and founded Seliga Financial, originally focused on private money lending. That same year, he began coaching an adult women’s soccer team, where he met his future wife, Nina. The two married in 1996 and went on to raise two sons, Andrew and Matteo, now 26 and 22.
As Seliga Financial grew, Deke expanded into commercial and apartment lending in 1992, and by 1995 he transitioned into conventional single-family mortgage lending as both a mortgage broker and licensed Realtor. Over the past 30+ years, he has successfully closed thousands of loans, building a reputation for honesty, expertise, and personalized service.
Although his competitive soccer career ended in 2015, Deke remains active through golf, tennis, and pickleball. He also enjoys traveling with Nina across the U.S. and abroad whenever the opportunity arises, and cherishes time spent with friends and family.

Today’s lending standards can be overwhelming and frustrating to a borrower, but we make it easy. We’re located right in Santa Rosa, California, and happy to work over email, the phone, or in person. Throughout the lending process, we provide borrowers with regular updates and progress reports on credit, appraisal, underwriting, loan conditions and interest rates to keep you fully informed and in the loop from start to finish.
